Finding Yellow Door Retreats

From Bank Top Car Park (Staithes), it’s a short but very scenic walk down to the cottage.

1. Leave the car park via the main exit and follow the signed path/steps downhill towards the village centre.

2. Continue down through the village, passing the rows of traditional cottages as the path winds towards the beck.

3. As you reach the lower part of the village, keep close to the beck and look out for the beck-side footpath.

4. Yellow Door Retreats is right on the water’s edge — look for the bright yellow door with the crab-shaped door knocker.

Important notes

• No parking at the property. Parking is available at the Bank Top Car Park.

• The walk down from the car park is very steep in places. If you have any mobility or medical concerns, please take your time and take extra care (especially in wet or icy weather).

• If you are a confident driver you can go down the hill (Staithes Lane), turn left at Beckside (opposite the museum) and park close to the property on the road to unload but please do not park there.
