Meet the Hosts

Hi, we’re Steph and Rob, and we’re so happy you’re here.

We’ve loved holidaying along the Yorkshire Coast for years, but the first time we visited Staithes, it completely stole our hearts. The coastline, the character, the slower pace, the way the village seems to wrap around you… it just felt special. We’re genuinely excited to now have a holiday home here that we can share with others, and we really hope you love it as much as we do.

Right now, the house is being fully refurbished, we’re putting a lot of love into creating a warm, comfortable space that feels like a proper escape. We’re keeping the charm of Staithes while adding those little touches that make a stay feel easy, cosy, and memorable.

We’re parents to two children, who love spending time in Staithes too. You’ll usually find them exploring the lanes and beach, heading out on their paddle boards, or sketching the wonderful sights, and when we’re not in the village, we’re out and about discovering more of the wider region together.

Like most families, day-to-day life is a whirlwind of school runs, lifts, clubs and hobbies… so when we come to Staithes, it’s our reset button. We especially love it in winter: a crisp coastal walk, rosy cheeks, the glow of a log fire, and a well-earned glass of wine (or a beer) as the evening draws in.

A little more about us:

• Steph works with children and loves the calm, grounding feel Staithes brings. Steph is also your main point of contact and wants you to enjoy the village (and the house) as much as we do.

• Rob is a Building Surveyor and an avid Liverpool fan — though you’ll quickly notice local football loyalties are often Leeds, Middlesbrough, and of course a few dedicated Whitby Town FC supporters too.
